FasTreat offers eligible Ontario adults and children ages 6+ with online ADHD care from regulated healthcare professionals. Depending on your clinical needs and provider availability, care may include assessment, diagnosis, a personalized treatment plan and follow-up. No family doctor referral is required.
Yes. Eligible Ontario patients can begin without a family doctor or referral. FasTreat can support an ADHD-specific pathway while you continue looking for primary care, but it does not replace comprehensive family medicine.
Across FasTreat's Canadian service, most patients wait less than 24 hours to see a provider. This figure is updated periodically and is not a guarantee; Ontario availability varies with provider authorization and demand. A 2025 Ipsos poll reported that 15% of Ontarians did not have a family doctor.
Ontario patients are matched with healthcare professionals authorized to practise in Ontario, including physicians, nurse practitioners and, where clinically appropriate and available, psychiatrists. You'll see your provider's name and professional title before your appointment; provider availability varies.
You can verify a physician's registration and standing through the CPSO Physician Register. Nurse practitioners can be verified through Find a Nurse, the College of Nurses of Ontario's public register.
Yes. For an Ontario appointment through FasTreat, you must be physically located in Ontario at the time of the visit. This allows FasTreat to confirm your eligibility and connect you with a provider authorized to care for patients in the province.
Care and prescriptions in Ontario
A provider may prepare supporting documentation for a school or workplace accommodation request when clinically appropriate. This is not guaranteed and depends on the provider's assessment, the information available and the requirements of the receiving organization. Share any required form or format with your provider for review.
Medication may be considered after a clinical assessment when your provider determines that it is appropriate and safe. Medication is not suitable for everyone, and a prescription is never guaranteed. Some patients may require an in-person assessment or additional testing.
If your provider determines that medication is appropriate and issues a prescription, it can be sent to the Ontario pharmacy you select. FasTreat pharmacy partners also offer delivery options and coordinated service for members.
No. A diagnosis and any treatment recommendation depend on your clinical assessment, safety considerations and the provider's professional judgment. You may be referred for additional testing, specialist care or an in-person assessment.
