Different personal experience, still just mine. A walk-in NP in B.C. continued an existing ADHD dose for a short period while MSP enrolment was pending, after reviewing bottles and a psychiatrist letter, and we paid the visit ourselves. They would not increase the dose. A second clinic we tried the same week said no. Policies are not uniform even in one city.

This is only my personal experience after moving to B.C., not advice for other newcomers. We were not on MSP yet. The walk-in charged us privately for the visit and would not start a stimulant for my partner even with overseas records. They said to come back after MSP and with a family doctor. I am not claiming every clinic will refuse.
