Yes. In British Columbia it is wise to confirm, before you pay, that your family doctor is willing to review a private ADHD assessment and consider prescribing, because a private report does not require any GP to start or continue stimulants. C. primary-care reality, not a national private-clinic guarantee. MSP covers medically required physician services when you are enrolled; it does not buy the psychologist assessment, and PharmaCare coverage of a later prescription is a different program that may still need Special Authority. FasTreat also offers private online ADHD assessment and ongoing care, depending on your needs and clinical assessment. This is only my personal experience in B.C. I emailed my GP before I booked a private adult ADHD assessment and waited for a yes that they would review the report. They still asked their own questions and did not automatically copy the clinic's medication suggestion. A coworker paid first and then found their new doctor would not prescribe stimulants from a private letter. I am not saying every GP behaves the same.
