A pharmacy in British Columbia may give an emergency supply of some medications when you cannot reach a prescriber, but ADHD stimulants are controlled drugs and the rules are tighter than for ordinary pills. HealthLink BC states that pharmacists cannot renew narcotics and controlled drugs for more than 30 days or the original amount, whichever is greater, and that an emergency short-term supply may be possible. The College of Pharmacists of British Columbia sets professional standards for adapting and continuing prescriptions; a pharmacist can still refuse if they cannot verify the original prescription, if the drug is not appropriate, or if they do not have enough information. A pharmacy cannot become your family doctor. MSP does not pay for prescription drugs; PharmaCare, Special Authority, Fair PharmaCare, or private insurance may apply separately, and Fair PharmaCare is income-based rather than automatically free.
Rules, coverage and referral pathways vary by province and can change; confirm the current position with the relevant institution or provincial program.

This is only my own experience in B.C., not advice. I had no family doctor and asked my usual pharmacy for an emergency ADHD stimulant supply. They checked the old prescription, asked a lot of questions, and gave a short amount under the controlled-drug limit they described. They told me to find a prescriber. Another pharmacy I called said they would not do it. I am describing my visit, not a province-wide rule.
