If urgent care refills my ADHD medication in BC, is it covered without Special Authority?

If urgent care in British Columbia refills an ADHD medication, that prescription is not automatically a PharmaCare benefit, and Special Authority is not skipped just because the pad says urgent care. MSP may cover the medically required physician or nurse practitioner visit when you are enrolled; paying for the drug is a PharmaCare and private-insurance question. Fair PharmaCare uses an income-based deductible, so eligible drugs are not automatically free at the counter. Limited-coverage ADHD products, including certain methylphenidate formulations and lisdexamfetamine, still need the published Special Authority or limited-coverage criteria to be met, usually with a prescriber request, regardless of whether the refill came from an Urgent and Primary Care Centre, a walk-in, or a family doctor. This is only my personal experience in B.C., not a coverage promise. Urgent care refilled my ADHD stimulant after I moved, but the pharmacy said it would not go through PharmaCare without Special Authority, which they said could take weeks. I paid out of pocket that month. A friend's GP had SA already so their urgent-care refill billed differently. I am not saying this happens to everyone.
