Will Fair PharmaCare cover some ADHD medications after a private assessment in BC?

Fair PharmaCare in British Columbia can contribute to some ADHD medications after a private assessment, but a private diagnosis does not by itself make a drug a benefit, and those medicines are not automatically free. C. public drug program with an income-based deductible; MSP pays for medically required physician services, not prescription drugs. C. licensed physician or nurse practitioner who is willing to prescribe, and the pharmacy claim is processed under PharmaCare rules that are separate from the assessment invoice. This is only my personal experience in B.C., not a rule for anyone else. After I paid for a private ADHD assessment my GP did prescribe, and Fair PharmaCare applied to some of the drugs once we had Special Authority, but I still paid a deductible first. A neighbour with a different income band paid much more at the counter for the same class of medication. I am sharing what happened to me, not promising coverage.
