An Ontario walk-in clinic cannot simply rewrite a United States prescription as a Canadian prescription, and that is especially true for controlled drugs. S. printout or bottle is supporting history, not an order a Canadian pharmacy can fill. Health Canada publishes guidance on travelling with prescription medicines that contain controlled substances, which is about lawful travel with medication already prescribed, not about converting a foreign prescription after you become an Ontario resident. Rules, coverage and referral pathways vary by province and can change; confirm the current position with the relevant institution or provincial program.

This is only my personal experience after moving from the U.S. to Ontario. I took my American stimulant and thyroid prescriptions to a walk-in. They renewed the thyroid after an assessment but would not rewrite the stimulant and said I needed a Canadian prescriber who would follow me. I am not saying every walk-in will split it that way; that is just what happened to me.
