Yes, this pattern is very common in adults with ADHD. During the day, hyperfocus, poor interoceptive awareness, and time blindness can make hunger cues easy to miss. By evening, blood sugar drops, exhaustion sets in, and appetite returns intensely. This can lead to overeating or binge like behavior that feels confusing or shameful. Clinicians understand this as a regulation issue rather than a lack of discipline. Supporting regular eating through reminders, easy access foods, and routine can reduce the cycle. It’s about supporting the nervous system, not fixing willpower.
