Is it easier to get ADHD diagnosed as a teenager than as an adult in Ontario?

It is not officially easier to get ADHD diagnosed as a teenager than as an adult in Ontario, even though the pathways look different. There is no ministry table that ranks wait times by age. Teens may be seen by paediatricians, family doctors, or child and adolescent psychiatrists whose services, when medically necessary, can be billed to OHIP. Adults often face long public psychiatry waits, and CAMH currently lists ADHD assessment and treatment among services it is unable to offer, so there is no published official CAMH adult ADHD waitlist to compare against a paediatric wait. CAMH Adult Neurodevelopmental Services is for adults with intellectual disability and/or autism diagnostic assessment, not an ADHD clinic.
