I work in tech and switching between projects fries my brain. Is this common?

Yes. Context switching places a heavy load on executive functioning, especially working memory and task reorientation. In ADHD, switching between projects, tools, or problem spaces can be disproportionately draining because the brain has to repeatedly reload information and refocus attention. Tech roles often require rapid switching, interruptions, and parallel thinking, which can amplify ADHD related fatigue. Struggling with this doesn’t mean you’re bad at the work. It usually means the cognitive demands are hitting known ADHD pressure points.
