Anyone else shut down the second they get ‘simple’ tasks?
idk why but the smaller the task, the harder it is for me to start it. like answering a text or booking an appointment totally shuts my brain off.
if this is an adhd thing, how do you deal with it without spiralling?

Yes, and it makes so much sense in the ADHD context. When a task is small or unstimulating, the brain may not generate enough dopamine to initiate action. It can feel disproportionately hard to start, even if logically you know it is easy.
This is often called task paralysis. It is not laziness. It is a gap between intention and initiation. Breaking tasks into micro steps or adding urgency or novelty can sometimes help bridge that gap.
