Even small choices like what to eat or which task to start totally overwhelm me. Clinically is this part of ADHD or more anxiety-related?

Decision paralysis is common in ADHD. Weighing options, predicting outcomes, and committing to one path all rely on executive processing. When overwhelmed, the brain stalls. Small choices can feel disproportionately large because of overthinking and fear of making the wrong move. It is cognitive overload, not incompetence. Limiting options, setting time limits, or pre deciding simple defaults can reduce that freeze response.
