I’m trying to understand what supports schools in Canada typically offer for students with ADHD. What kinds of accommodations are commonly available?

Once you have a diagnosis at Fastreat, we will be able to write a Diagnosis Letter. This will explain all the work you have done to get the ADHD diagnosis. If you get this letter advising the school of the detailed and extensive questionnaires that were completed for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders and ADHD, I have found the schools are very happy to help in accommodating the child or teen. I will then explain that an interview was conducted by way of telemedicine. The details were documented. The summary of the impression is that the patient meets the DSM-V Diagnostic Criteria for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This allows the school to register the student with ADHD. I would then request if accommodation are required I suggest in the letter using this language: Writing tests and exams in a separate quiet room. Taking short movement breaks during long exams. Be provided more time to complete assignments, term papers or projects. This is usually the accommodations that most Canadian schools are able to commonly assist with a patient with the diagnosis of ADHD.
