My son is 8 and really struggling in school — can we even use an online platform for an assessment this young, or does it need to be in-person?

My 8-year-old has been struggling hard at school this year, teacher's mentioned it twice now in parent-teacher meetings, and we're finally at the point where we want to get him properly assessed. Everything I've found about ADHD assessment platforms online seems geared toward adults, though, and I'm not sure if that's actually accurate or if I just haven't found the right resource yet. Is there an actual, legitimate way to get a kid this young assessed without doing the whole months-long in-person referral wait?
