Yes, this is a classic ADHD experience. Interest alone does not always equal regulation. Long meetings require sustained stillness, passive listening, and delayed response, which can be physically uncomfortable for ADHD nervous systems. Restlessness does not mean boredom or disrespect. It is the body trying to stay alert. Many people quietly fidget, shift positions, or feel an urge to move just to maintain focus. Allowing discreet movement, note taking, or standing when possible can actually improve attention. The discomfort is real, and accommodating it often leads to better engagement, not less.
