Why do I forget conversations minutes after having them?
I genuinely listen but it doesn't stick. Is this ADHD working memory?

If you are genuinely listening but it does not stick, that often points to working memory rather than effort. Working memory is the brain’s temporary holding space. In ADHD, that system can be less efficient. Information comes in, but it does not always transfer into longer term storage.
Distraction during encoding also plays a role. Even small internal thoughts can interrupt consolidation. It can feel embarrassing, but it is neurocognitive, not careless.
Repeating key points back, writing quick notes, or summarizing at the end of conversations can help anchor memory.
