This “blank brain” feeling is a classic task initiation issue. It’s not a lack of motivation or intelligence. In ADHD, the brain can freeze at the starting line because it struggles to organize steps, prioritize what comes first, or generate enough activation to begin. The moment of starting requires executive functioning, and when that system is overloaded or under stimulated, everything goes quiet instead of clicking into gear. People often misinterpret this as procrastination or avoidance, but neurologically it’s more like a stalled engine. Once started, things may flow fine. Getting started is the hardest part.
