Perimenopause symptoms feel a lot like ADHD symptoms — how do I know which service I actually need?

Mid-forties and dealing with brain fog, forgetfulness, and difficulty focusing that's gotten noticeably worse over the past year or so. Genuinely can't tell if this is late-onset ADHD finally catching up with me or a perimenopause thing, and don't want to book the wrong kind of assessment and waste time and money.
