I'll start talking and suddenly have no clue what I'm saying. Does this happen to others?

Yes, this is very common in ADHD and is closely tied to working memory. When you speak, your brain is holding multiple things at once: what you just said, what you are about to say, and how the other person is reacting. In ADHD, that mental holding space is less stable. If attention shifts even briefly, the thread can drop. This is not a sign of low intelligence or poor communication. It often happens more when you are tired, anxious, or trying hard to explain something clearly. The idea is there, but the retrieval pathway glitches. Pausing, restarting, or losing the sentence entirely is a known ADHD experience.
