How do you suggest adults explain an ADHD diagnosis to their employer?
I've just been diagnosed and I'm considering whether to tell my manager. From your perspective, how do you recommend adults in professional roles go about disclosing ADHD at work, and what kinds of reasonable adjustments are realistic to ask for without creating stigma?

I actually recommend you not disclose your ADHD diagnosis to your employer. I would wait and see if they are able to notice a difference in your workflow.
I find once a patient becomes settled in their diagnosis as well as in the type and amount of medications, things with work just fall into place.
On the right medication and/or therapy you will find you are doing deep dives for the right subject at work and will keep hyper-focused until you have finished the task at hand.
This can be a game changer in the workforce. I have had many patients advise me that their productivity at work goes up more than 50% and they are working without any issues with concentration and finishing projects in a timely fashion.
ADHD needs to be managed and once harnessed correctly, it can be amazing. It will no longer be a burden but a gift to you and your employer.
