How many weeks did titration actually take before you found your working dose?
Starting methylphenidate next week and my doctor's "a few weeks of adjustment" is doing a lot of load-bearing work in my anxiety right now. People who've been through titration: how many dose changes and how many actual weeks before things clicked? Did ANYONE land on their first dose or is that a myth? Just want realistic expectations instead of the brochure version. 39M, Ontario.

4 changes, 9 weeks: 18→27→36 methylphenidate ER, then back to 27 which turned out to be it. The overshoot-and-return apparently isn't failure, it's how you find the ceiling. Nobody told me that going in and the 36mg week felt like drinking espresso through a fire hose.

6 dose changes across TWO meds, 5 months total. Posting the long tail so you have the full distribution. It was worth it — but if you're in month 3 feeling broken, the process just takes this long for some of us and it's not a sign the whole idea is failing.
