Meds made my anxiety worse for the first 2 weeks — did it settle for anyone else?

Two weeks into Vyvanse 20mg and the trade so far: focus is better, but my baseline anxiety got louder — chest-buzzy, 1am overthinking, the works. Prescriber says give it another week or two before judging, which is probably sensible and also an eternity. Trying to calibrate: for those whose anxiety spiked early on stimulants, did yours settle? How long? And if it didn't — was moving to a different med or class the answer? Just want to know what the fork in the road looks like before I get there. 26F, Québec.

Mine did NOT settle — and switching to atomoxetine solved exactly this. Not saying it to scare you: both branches exist, both are manageable. The 2-3 week checkpoint your prescriber set is the right frame; arrive with a curve instead of an impression and the decision makes itself.

Week three my anxiety dropped BELOW baseline, same dose — because the chaos feeding it had shrunk. For the first two weeks my body couldn't tell 'stimulated' from 'in danger.' It calibrated. Do the nightly 1-10 log your prescriber suggested; the trend line matters more than any single bad night.
