It's not considered a dangerous combination in the sense of a major documented drug interaction, but it's generally not an ideal routine pairing either, for a couple of practical reasons rather than a serious safety concern. An active stimulant can blunt or partially counteract the sedating effect of an antihistamine like diphenhydramine, meaning the sleep aid may work less well than expected while a stimulant is still active in your system, which can lead to taking more of the antihistamine than intended to get the same effect. If the change is persistent, distressing, or affecting daily functioning, contact your provider through the FasTreat portal rather than changing medication on your own.

Used to take Benadryl most nights on top of my stimulant because nothing else seemed to touch the wired feeling, and needed more and more of it over time to get the same effect. Once my doctor pointed out the stimulant was probably blunting it and suggested adjusting my afternoon dose instead, I stopped needing the antihistamine most nights entirely. Didn't realize the two were working against each other until it was actually explained that way.
