What's the difference between being diagnosed with obesity versus just being "overweight"?
Is there an actual medical line between 'overweight' and 'obesity,' or are those basically the same thing said differently?

They're technically different categories on the same BMI scale. 9 range, while "obesity" starts at a BMI of 30 and is further split into classes (I, II, III) as it increases. The more clinically meaningful distinction, though, is less about the label and more about whether excess weight is actually causing health problems, which is why current guidelines push clinicians to look past the category name and assess actual impact.
