Why do I bounce between overplanning and total chaos?
I spend a day planning everything then abandon all of it. Is this ADHD or just a me problem?

This pendulum is very common. Overplanning can be an attempt to control overwhelm. You spend hours building the perfect system. Then the executive load of maintaining it becomes too heavy, so it collapses.
ADHD brains crave structure but struggle with sustained implementation. It is not laziness. It is capacity mismatch.
Simpler systems usually work better. Fewer steps, visible cues, and realistic expectations prevent that swing between extremes.
