Yes, for many adults it can. While medication is often discussed in terms of focus, emotional regulation is also part of executive functioning. When attention and impulse control improve, emotional responses often become less intense and more manageable. People may notice fewer emotional spikes, less reactivity, or quicker recovery after stress.
That said, medication doesn’t remove emotions or solve every regulation challenge. It tends to widen the pause between feeling and reacting. Clinicians often combine medication with skills based strategies, therapy, or coaching. Emotional improvement is a common but variable benefit, and noticing it does not mean emotions were the wrong before.
