Everything I read fits me but I still wonder if I'm faking it. Is this common?

Yes, and this doubt is extremely common. Many adults experience imposter syndrome around ADHD, especially if they’ve spent years compensating, achieving, or being told they’re just anxious or overthinking. When everything fits, the brain often responds with “but what if I’m just making excuses?” This doubt usually comes from internalized stigma and long standing self blame, not from lack of symptoms. ADHD doesn’t always look dramatic. It often looks like quiet struggle, exhaustion, and constant effort. Clinicians expect this doubt and don’t view it as evidence against ADHD. If anything, it’s often part of the late diagnosis experience.
