Is over-explaining yourself a common behaviour in ADHD adults?
I over-explain to make sure people don't get the wrong idea. Is that ADHD-related?

Yes. Over explaining is very common and usually comes from a mix of anxiety, past misunderstandings, and difficulty gauging how much information is enough. Many adults with ADHD have experienced being misread or corrected, which can lead to a habit of adding extra context to prevent confusion.
It can also be related to impulsive speech or difficulty summarizing thoughts concisely in real time. Clinicians don’t see this as a personality flaw. It’s often a coping strategy shaped by years of trying to be understood.
