Children with ADHD often feel emotions more intensely and have fewer tools to pause or shift gears once upset. This can look like meltdowns, irritability, or giving up quickly. It is not about being dramatic or oppositional. Their nervous system is reaching overload faster. Teaching regulation skills, reducing overwhelm, and adjusting expectations often helps more than discipline alone.
