How do you prepare an adult for their very first ADHD assessment with you?
I've finally booked an ADHD assessment and I'm anxious I won't remember what to say. What do you usually advise adults to bring or think about beforehand so the assessment is as useful and accurate as possible?

I reassure them first. Many people worry they will forget details or not explain themselves clearly. I tell them there is no performance required. I will guide the conversation. It can help to reflect on childhood patterns, school reports if available, and current challenges at work, home, and relationships. I also encourage honesty about coping strategies, even the messy ones. The goal is understanding, not judgment. You do not need to present perfectly to be taken seriously.
