This is a thoughtful question, and many clinicians agree that ADHD is partly a mismatch with modern demands. In a society with more flexibility, movement, novelty, and varied pacing, many ADHD traits would be less impairing. Some might even be advantages. That said, ADHD would likely still exist as a neurodevelopmental difference. Difficulty regulating attention, impulses, and motivation would still show up, just with fewer penalties attached. Clinicians often frame ADHD as a difference that becomes a disorder when the environment offers little accommodation or flexibility.
