Why did you end up choosing an online ADHD platform over just going through your family doctor?

For me it was less about wait time and more that my GP genuinely didn't have much ADHD-specific assessment experience, felt more confident with someone whose whole focus was this specific condition rather than one of many things a general family doctor manages.

Similar story, GP comfortable managing plenty of things but not stimulant prescribing long-term specifically, didn't want to refer out and manage it herself either. Online route filled that specific gap for me, a provider actually comfortable and experienced with ongoing ADHD medication management.

Wait time was the whole thing for me honestly, my GP quoted something like 8 months just for the referral to even be seen, before any actual assessment happened. Went the online route instead and was seen within two weeks, diagnosed and starting treatment within a month total, versus what would've been the better part of a year through the referral pathway. Wasn't a knock on my GP at all, she was upfront that ADHD specifically wasn't her focus area and referring out was the right call clinically, it just came with a wait I genuinely couldn't sit with given how much it was affecting my work at the time.
