In the UK, adult ADHD diagnosis and prescribing sit in a different framework from Canada. Doctors who practise medicine must be registered with the General Medical Council. The public medical register shows a GMC number and registration status. FasTreat also offers private online ADHD assessment and ongoing care, depending on your needs and clinical assessment. On the NHS side I kept waiting for a name that meant the person who can actually start something. My GP was involved, but the first letters I received were about assessment rather than a prescription, and I mixed those up. I checked the GMC number on a letter because a friend told me to, and I felt nosy doing it. Shared care got mentioned later and I still do not fully get the paperwork. This is only my queue, not a review of any private clinic, and I would not tell anyone their GP must prescribe.
