Someone told me ADHD is basically caused by kids eating too much sugar — is that actually true?
Older relative is convinced my son's ADHD is a direct result of too much sugar in his diet and that fixing his diet would basically fix the ADHD. Wanting an actual, clear answer to bring back to that conversation rather than just an assumption on either side.

Got this exact comment from my own mother for years, cut my kid's sugar down significantly at one point just to test it, zero change in his actual ADHD symptoms. Confirmed for me personally what the research already says.
