This surprises many people, but it is quite common. For some adults with ADHD, stimulants calm mental restlessness and reduce racing thoughts. When the brain is more regulated during the day, it can actually wind down more easily at night. Better sleep often reflects reduced internal hyperactivity rather than sedation. Clinicians monitor timing and dose carefully, but improved sleep can be a positive sign that the nervous system is better regulated overall.
