Do you see many girls whose ADHD was missed because they were ‘quiet and good’?
My 11-year-old daughter is dreamy, loses track of what she's doing and rarely finishes tasks, but she's never disruptive so teachers describe her as 'sweet' rather than concerned. How often do you see ADHD missed in girls like this, and what specific signs make you strongly suspect it?

Yes, very often. Girls with inattentive ADHD may be dreamy, disorganized, or internally overwhelmed rather than disruptive. Because they are not causing classroom issues, symptoms can be overlooked. Many compensate with perfectionism or anxiety. They may not be identified until academic demands increase. Quiet does not mean coping well. We have to look at effort and internal experience.
