Why do people with ADHD procrastinate even on things they want to do?
I want to do certain things but I just... don't start. Is that ADHD?

This is one of the most misunderstood aspects of ADHD. Procrastination here is not about avoidance or lack of interest. It is usually a problem with task initiation. The brain struggles to activate without urgency, novelty, or emotional intensity. Even enjoyable or meaningful tasks can feel strangely inaccessible. People often describe wanting to do something but feeling stuck, frozen, or unable to start. Once urgency appears, the task suddenly becomes doable. Clinically, this is understood as an executive function issue, not a motivation problem.
