If a family doctor will not do shared care after a private ADHD diagnosis, the GP is not required to take over prescribing, and the practical options are about finding a licensed prescriber who will, not about forcing the original office. Shared care is an agreement. A family doctor is not legally forced to write a stimulant because a private clinic diagnosed ADHD. FasTreat also offers private online ADHD assessment and ongoing care, depending on your needs and clinical assessment.

Shared care never started for me. The family doctor would not take over the stimulant and the private people were not going to be my forever clinic either. I spent a month emailing both sides like a switchboard. Nobody treated the diagnosis like a court order. This is just my mess. I would not promise anyone a tidy shared-care ending.
