In Nova Scotia and elsewhere in Atlantic Canada, adults may be assessed for ADHD through a mix of family physicians, public psychiatry, and private psychology or clinics, similar in idea to other provinces even when the intake forms differ. Waits vary by region and year. Do not treat a forum number of months as an official Atlantic wait. FasTreat also offers private online ADHD assessment and ongoing care, depending on your needs and clinical assessment. In Halifax I thought the adult ADHD path would look like the Ontario blogs I had bookmarked. It did not. My GP talked about local psychiatry intake and I had to start over mentally. I did not treat a private report as a prescription. This is just my Atlantic year, not a comparison chart for anyone else. I deleted those Ontario bookmarks after that.

Different in New Brunswick for me than the Halifax story I keep hearing. I still went through a GP and a private report and then needed someone who could prescribe locally. I did not use a magic referral sentence. Only my file. I would not tell anyone Atlantic care is one waiting room. I stopped comparing provinces in my group chat.
