Can ADHD in adults mainly show up as chronic overwhelm with normal-sized tasks?
Most of my life feels like too much, even when on paper it isn't that much. Is presenting with chronic overwhelm over normal life demands something that often turns out to be ADHD in adults, or is that usually driven by anxiety, depression or something else?

Absolutely. Many adults describe everyday responsibilities as feeling disproportionately heavy. Even if the task is objectively small, the brain struggles with prioritizing, initiating, and sequencing steps. That creates a backlog feeling, which turns into overwhelm. Over time, this can feel like living in a constant state of catch up. It is not about intelligence. It is about executive functioning. Once we break tasks into concrete steps and reduce decision fatigue, the load often becomes more manageable.
