Moving from Ontario to British Columbia on ADHD medication is not a simple photocopy of the old prescription. Public coverage does not automatically follow overnight. Enrolment in BC MSP, finding a new primary prescriber licensed in British Columbia, transferring records, and a new provincial formulary or Special Authority process may all apply. If the change is persistent, distressing, or affecting daily functioning, bring a brief timeline to the prescribing clinician rather than changing the dose independently.

I moved from Ontario to the Island thinking the old script would just transfer. The pharmacy in BC looked at it like it was from another planet. I spent evenings on MSP forms instead of celebrating the move. I did not stretch the leftover on purpose. Only my relocation. I would not tell anyone the Ontario pad keeps working. I felt small at that counter.
