How do you support late-diagnosed adults who feel they've ‘wasted’ decades?
I was diagnosed in my late 30s and I can't stop thinking about how different things might have been if someone had noticed earlier. As a clinician, how do you support patients who are grieving lost time and opportunities because of undiagnosed ADHD?

With validation and reframing. Grief is common after late diagnosis. People mourn lost opportunities and misunderstandings. We make space for that. At the same time, we explore strengths that helped them survive. Diagnosis can be empowering. It offers explanation, not excuse. Healing often involves self compassion and building a future that aligns with how their brain actually works. It is never too late to live differently.
