You may be able to start some form of ADHD assessment after arriving in Canada without a provincial card, but public insured physician services usually need a health card after a waiting or enrolment period that varies, and there is no national free ADHD clinic for uninsured newcomers. Interim Federal Health may cover some refugees and protected persons, not all immigrants. Private-pay assessment may be possible; medication still requires a licensed prescriber. FasTreat also offers private online ADHD assessment and ongoing care, depending on your needs and clinical assessment.

I landed without a card and thought I could still start an ADHD assessment if I paid. I found out paying for psychology and getting a stimulant are not the same errand. I waited on enrolment emails and felt behind everyone else. This is just my first months. I would not tell a newcomer there is a secret free clinic.
