My friends say I became boring on meds. Has anyone else had to deal with that?

Friends calling you boring is a social judgement, not a medical endpoint. ADHD medicines are used to reduce impairing impulsivity and inattention. My friends said I got boring too. I interrupt less and I do not jump into every joke. I think they missed the chaos more than I did. I told the people who matter that I am still me, I am just not performing all the time. When I started to feel blunted, not just quieter, I mentioned that to my prescriber. This is only what I dealt with, not a verdict on anyone else's friends.

Opposite for me. I felt more present, not less fun, but my old group still wanted the late-night spiral version. I did not argue it into a medical fact. I spent more time with people who liked the calmer pace and I said at clinic that the social comments were getting in my head. They did not treat my friends' opinions as a diagnosis.
