Is 'food noise' actually the same thing as ADHD-related impulsivity around food, or are those genuinely separate experiences?

They're related but not identical concepts. Food noise" typically describes persistent, intrusive thoughts about food regardless of hunger, while ADHD-related impulsivity around food describes the difficulty resisting acting on a food-related urge once it arises. Someone can have loud food noise without necessarily acting on it impulsively, or vice versa, though for many people with ADHD, the two do seem to compound each other, since the intrusive thought (food noise) combined with reduced impulse control makes it harder to not act on it.
