A referral sent by a GP is a request, not proof that the specialist has already agreed to take you. A referral asks another clinician to take over or share care. A consultation may only be an opinion that returns you to the referring doctor. FasTreat also offers private online ADHD assessment and ongoing care, depending on your needs and clinical assessment. My family doctor sent the referral and I celebrated like I had an appointment. I did not. Later I learned it was still sitting somewhere as a request. I had screenshot the letter and treated it as a yes. That crash was on me. I called the office and felt like a nuisance. I would not treat a sent referral as a specialist saying yes. Only my premature celebration, and I would not guess anyone else's wait from it.
