A dinner-time drop on Concerta is something some people describe, and switching the conversation to Vyvanse is common, but that swap does not guarantee better after-school or bedtime coverage. Concerta is listed on the CADDRA chart at around 12 hours as an OROS methylphenidate product with a 22/78 release profile. Vyvanse is listed around 13 to 14 hours as a lisdexamfetamine prodrug. If the change is persistent, distressing, or affecting daily functioning, bring a brief timeline to the prescribing clinician rather than changing the dose independently.

I was cooked by 5:30 on Concerta, like dinner was happening to someone else. After I tried Vyvanse I got some after-school hours back with my kid, but bedtime was still a coin flip and I would not call it solved. I kept a dumb note on my phone about when I turned into a brick. Took that to the prescriber instead of declaring a winner. This is just me in suburban Ontario, not a reason for anyone else to switch.
