Why did my ADHD only become obvious in adulthood as a woman?
Looking back, I managed well enough as a child, but things unraveled in adulthood. Why is ADHD so often diagnosed later in women, and what changes make symptoms more visible over time?

This is completely normal and something I see frequently in my practice. Many women manage well during childhood, often with the help of school structures, family support, or coping strategies they develop early on. However, in adulthood, as responsibilities increase—work, studies, family, managing daily life—these strategies may no longer be enough, and symptoms become more noticeable. The demands of adult life can highlight difficulties with attention, organization, or emotional regulation that were previously unnoticed. This is very common and does not reflect on your abilities or intelligence, but rather the impact of ADHD in a more complex context
