Will my ADHD meds work again after I stop the pill?

Personal only. On the combined pill my Concerta felt flat for months. About six weeks after stopping, my cycle came back and the stimulant felt closer to normal. I still needed ADHD treatment; the pill was not the whole story. I kept a notes-app log for a couple of months: sleep, missed pills, and which days actually felt usable. I did not use that log to change a dose myself. I took it to clinic and asked my prescribers to look at the overlap together. I still needed ADHD care. Personal experience only. Different for me. I stopped the pill and waited months, but my meds still felt weak until perimenopause was addressed separately. Stopping birth control helped mood, not magically fixing ADHD on its own. I expected a clearer before-and-after and did not get one. Energy moved a little; planning and follow-through did not. I kept my ADHD medication and asked for monitoring instead of a DIY combo. If anything helped, it was sleep and fewer skipped doses. Experience only.
