Is difficulty maintaining long-term goals tied to ADHD or personality?
I'm great at starting things but terrible at sticking with long-term goals. Which part of this is ADHD?

This is very often tied to ADHD rather than personality. Long term goals require sustained motivation, future planning, and consistent follow through, all of which rely on executive functioning. In ADHD, motivation tends to be driven by immediacy and interest rather than distant rewards.
Many people with ADHD are excellent at starting things and genuinely care about long term goals, but struggle to maintain momentum once novelty fades. This can get misinterpreted as lack of discipline or commitment, when it’s actually a difficulty keeping future rewards emotionally “online” in the present.
